“Exquisite dense and uniform; fine, dark fleece on a well balanced frame and robust constitution displaying a delightful temperament”. Such is the description of an Alpaca Huacaya stud demonstrating the quality breeding of champion bloodlines. Surely this unique animal’s blood is worth bottling, if only figuratively speaking!

So we asked our friends at McLaren Vale to produce a red wine akin to enchanting and soft Huacaya. This wine, a South Australian Shiraz, predominantly McLaren Vale with Langhorne Creek and Limestone Coast parcels added, is deep in colour, bursting with blackberry fruit juice, blueberry jam with liquorice, pepper and spice overtones. It is the happy outcome of co-fermentation and will provide as much satisfaction as introducing someone to their first alpaca!
